best replacement screen ive gotten. September 10, 2010 Joanna Treto (California, USA) Ive replaced my screens on an iphone many times and this screen is the best one Ive gotten for the price. If you dont want to pay the 200 to at&t this is the next best thing if you know how to install it right.
Great Product and FAST September 9, 2010 masteraustin The product was as described and was received very fast! Install was painless and my phone looks great. Only problem i had was that the Philips screw driver that came with the kit was boken
total crap September 6, 2010 d i was very disappointed when i got this product mostly because it did not come with the philips screw driver so i couldnt take my phone apart at all and i pretty much bought it for nothing epecially since no one sells ppilip #00 screw drivers around me so i just have a screen sitting at my house
Great with a little help from the internet! September 5, 2010 Kimberly Jones The actual product is great. However, there was no video link with mine. And the instructions were obviously written by somebody who does not speak the English language.
There are great video tutorials on the web though. I would watch a couple before trying to do this. I am certainly not a wiz at "do it yourself" repair projects. I did this one by myself and it was simple enough. If I can do it, you can do it. Separating the glass from the metal frame was tedious, but not horrible. Use a blow dryer to heat it up a little at a time. Makes the glass easier to pull off. Getting it started is the hard part. When you put the new glass on make sure the ribbon cables are on the inside of the frame. (IMPORTANT!!!)
Again, if I can do it, you can do it!
Do It Yourself VS Do It Right September 4, 2010 B. Littmann First off, this product itself is exactly as it is described. It has everything you need to replace the broken glass on an iPhone 3G or 3GS (I used it for a 3GS), and my screen was working correctly after it was all said and done (the home button is another story - see below).
However, unless you're a pro at fixing iPhones, I would recommend getting the glass, digitizer, and frame together (ex: Pre-installed Kit : Apple iPhone 3G Lcd Glass Screen Cover + Touch Screen Digitizer + Frame + Home Flex Button + Ear Speaker + Tool + Cleaning Cloth) so you can skip the tedious step of heating the assembly to remove the old glass. I made the mistake of getting the home button too warm and it became very difficult to press when I put it all back together. The glass also wasn't flush with the rest of the phone.
Also, I'm not sure why it has the guitar pick. I didn't use it.
