BROWN EDGING September 10, 2010 angie I read the other reviews on here before I installed the edging. I unrolled the entire roll and stretched it across the driveway and placed blocks on it and let it sit in the sun for two days. I then got a flat spade like tool and cut the edge in the dirt with it first so when i installed the edging it already had a 2 inch cut in the dirt before I put the edging in it. I used this because I have a sidewalk then landscaping then the house so I wanted brown because the grass was not touching it. I did not even have to use the spikes because the cut line was already two inches deep. It looks great and I have a straight and curved sidewalk. I would recommend this product to anyone especially where the sidewalk is so you can keep your sidewalk dirt free It looks so much better than the metal strips and since my sidewalk had a curve in it it was much easier to bend plastic than it would have been with metal. I am a woman too!!! Great buy for the money!!!
Bender Board September 4, 2010 ta3sk Happy with the product but find it hard to work with it by myself. Needed help of another person to work with it. Great deal compare to what's available at Home Depot or at Lowes. It is wide enough, hard/sturdy, nice color that blends with landscaping. I did not use any spikes with it beacuse I used it around french drain around the house and covered and secured it by "goose egg" type of stone/rock. I purchased metal spikes at home depot to use with this product in my landscaping but I guess I'll leave this project for next spring:). I highly recommend this product.
great! But use patience August 24, 2010 CrazyK Great product!! I recommend rolling it flat out and letting it sit for a day or so. I staked it down within an hour. Still looks good despite my impatience, but it'll be easier if you slow down.
Excellent but you need to make a modification first June 22, 2010 W. Boswell (Michigan USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you dig the trench the proper depth and let the edging relax in the sun there will be very little wave. I did find that the stakes cause a problem since they twist the edging when pounded into the ground. I modified the stakes by cutting off the point and then using them. Once this was done, the stakes went straight into the ground and did not twist the edging. I think the point on the stakes causes the stake to curve under the edging as it goes in and that then pulls the edging back towards the stake and creates a wave.
garden edging June 20, 2010 A. W. Moulton (Kennebunkport, ME United States) good product. better than box store offerings (which break too easily). Buy an extra stake kit as the stakes that come with the kit are too few to get all the curve out of the edging the way I wanted.
Good news, the edging doesn't crack/fracture like the box store offerings.
