Martini - Shaken, Not Stirred... August 17, 2010 Steve South (Rockville, MD) I have had this shaker now for over 20 years.. Best one on the market... I have tended bar with this and use it in the house... Can not be beaten.. (Note: Stay away from the ones with the silicon or rubber fitting tops.. They WILL leak!)
Good value. June 14, 2010 J. Barefoot This is a good, no frills, shaker set. I have had no problems with it so far and would recommend it for anyone that is looking for a cheap but quality set.
This is a great shaker. April 14, 2010 Benjamin A. Egan (Johnstown, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my first shaker but man, it's awesome. The seal is great, the glass is strong, and it's not too tough to get apart if you do it right. The strainer works pretty well too for remaining ice and fruit in the tin.
For people having trouble i'll provide some tips to use this correctly and getting it apart. I put it together too tightly the first time I used it and it was a beast to get apart.
Mix up your drink in the glass and add the ice. Place the tin on top and make sure its close but not completely against one side of the glass. (there will be a < 1/4 inch gap between the glass and tin on one side and about 3/4 on the opposite) Give the tin a little tap on top to seat it. Flip the contents into the tin (the ice will cool and contract the tin onto the glass and the weight of the glass will help maintain the seal with the tin) Holding both parts shake with a motion as long as the shaker itself. To break this seal leave the tin on the bottom, give the glass a sharp tap near the top toward the side with the big gap, rest the small gap against a counter top or bar and your body against the tin and press the glass and sorta roll the tin. It will pop right open with not too much force so make sure you have hold of the tin (and your drink). Strain from the tin if the recipe calls for it.
awesome February 7, 2010 S. warber this was a Christmas gift for my husband. I looked at several shaker and shaker kits before I purchased this set. My husband loves it. Its very sturdy a he uses it a lot! Excellent value for the price!
Doesn't make a very good seal to shake. January 30, 2010 BlueEyes (Claremont, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used it a bunch of times now and every time I'm disappointed with the seal. I think the pint glass may be too thick. Shaker can works fine with other glasses.
